1. promise v. to tell someone that one will definitely do something 答应；许诺
e.g. Since you have promised to do it, you should do it.
既然你已经许诺过了，你就该说到做到。

4. resort n. a place where people go on holiday or during vacation 度假胜地；旅游胜地
e. g. Qingdao is one of the leading resort cities in China.青岛是中国最著名的度假胜地之一。
短语：last/final resort：what you will do if everything else fails
as a last resort 万不得已（作为最后手段）
e. g. Drug treatment should only be used as a last resort.
in the last resort (British English) 作为最后一着
e.g. Economic sanctions will be used only in the last resort.
first resort: what you will do first before you try other things:
e.g. In the past, your family was the first resort when looking for a job.
resort to something: formal when you must use or depend on something because nothing better is available

5. slope n. the side of a hill or mountain 山坡
